Can Exercise Cause Mania?


I'd like to spend a few weeks writing about movement.  Exercise is crucial to good health, and it can help regulate moods, too.  I spend a lot of time with this blog on meditation, but not enough on this other, possibly more effective, form of stress relief.


Few people with mental illness do much to help their physical health.  The stereotype of the person with a mental illness laying around on the couch looking for the remote while cashing disability checks rings true all too often.  To get up and move around can be an important first step toward recovery.
